Right now, I currently work on my blog from home on our desktop computer (mac mini with 2 window screens). It’s very useful, but I do not own a laptop and it can be hard when I want to be mobile. I usually borrow Eric’s laptop, but it’s not always available. Someday I’m going to buy my own! But it is expensive and not a priority right now. And I don’t mind working from home at all! I do most of my writing in the early hours of the morning before I head to work or out for the day. Most of my blog posts are up before 8am! I love to sip my coffee and have the dogs by my side. Our little home office is a bit messy but it works just as well! I’ve been meaning to get organized and create a better workspace, but E & I share this one and we’ve both got our own agendas for this space. I’ve been intrigued by other bloggers posting pictures of their work setting and it inspired me to write a post about home office inspiration.
I adore the layout of this home office. I love the contrast of the grey and brown chair with the white of the shelves & desk. And the idea of fresh blooms & beautiful wall decor make me happy. If you have space to put picture frames & make your space feel really homey, lucky you! It makes the space so much more personal. When you’re working in a space you love, it’s hard to leave! Try and make your home office as cozy and comfortable as you can for your needs.

What is necessary for a home office? Well, a few things. For starters, you need a clean working space. A good desk. And a comfortable desk chair. You’ll want good lighting and storage for your pens, files, & tools. You’ll need your computer and you’ll hopefully have a place where you keep your calendar.
If you don’t have a desk with drawers (we have a glass table so we have to think about this), consider getting a file cabinet or storage center. You can make it look really pretty like this one below :) I love that mug!

I want to have enough space to have a vase with flowers too! I might buy feaux flowers though so I don’t have to replace them all the time. I’d find a color that goes well with my space. How cute is that Diptyque candle in the left image? I’ve always wanted one (especially the Mimosa scent!) but goodness, must they cost $62?

How cute are these frames above the desk? Fun fact, Kat Tanita (the blogger whose desk this is) and I were sorority sisters in college. She went on to become a successful fashion and beauty blogger in New York! Props to her. Her blog is GORGEOUS!

How cozy & chic is this space below? I love that blanket draped over the chair. It just says Come Sit Here Please and Relax. I love the whites of this room. Maybe white just has a certain feeling to it? I’ve noticed I’m drawn to white rooms that use furniture & decor to add color. Or maybe I just love white because it creates the best photographs? Ps: I spy a pretty little purple candle and a succulent! (SPEAK TO ME)
