The Happy List Series continues with my Winter Additions….
As someone who has titled their blog space The Autumn Girl, you can imagine my sentiment towards seasons. Each has its own unique feel and flavor, and right now I am savoring these moments of winter. Growing up in the midwest, there was always a clear distinction between summer, fall, winter, and spring. And now that I live in Texas, I’ve had to adjust to a new normal for the seasons. Which are winter and summer, by the way ;) It’s hot hot hot hot, and then pleasantly cool. I kind of love it (when it’s cool…)
As much as I love our mild winter weather here, I do miss the snow that covers Chicago like a blanket at this time of year. And I’m glad I’ve been back to experience it in 2016. So I’m going to share a little happy list of my winter favorites! Here we go…
* The Steam rising off Lake Michigan on a freezing cold morning. Large snowflakes. Sweater socks. Curling up by a roaring fire * Sipping champagne. Chunky sweaters and leggings * Soup & Chili. Fresh snowfall. Rosy cheeks * Skating followed by pizza. Building snowmen and snow forts * Making Valentines. Ice Hockey. Warm food & Mountains * Cozy winter naps. Tea time on a frigid day * Hot chocolate. Having nowhere to be during a snowstorm but by the windowsill to enjoy it. Craft days with Mom.
