Hi Guys! Today I’m sharing a little bit about basics and how you can dress them up. My little sister Lili is the Queen of Basics. After seeing several of her ensembles, I decided to sneak into her closet and was totally surprised by the lack of clothing in there! I expected a ton of new purchases (everything she wears is SO cute!) But Lili is a minimalist. She doesn’t have overstuffed drawers and hangers upon hangers of clothing like many girls. She has what she needs- the basics- and the accessories and creative mind to dress it up! Scarves, booties, jewelry, cardigans- these are things that you can add to an outfit.  But you must start with very simple items.

My favorite store for basic tees and tops is Banana Republic. They run a little bit pricier than Old Navy or Gap but the quality is the best. Having plain tees and long sleeve shirts is important to keeping things simple. They go with everything. I also love shopping at Loft because they always have deals and lots of options. It’s a perfect store for that put-together business casual look.

Along with tops, having a favorite pair of pants is essential to completely your cute ‘basic’ look. I love denim and buy inexpensive designer jeans from Nordstrom Rack. My favorite brands are Seven Jeans, Joes, and Hudsons. Having that favorite pair is something that makes you FEEL good every day.

Below is one look that I absolutely love. Demin with booties and a blanket scarf. Staple items. Cozy chic. Not only do I feel put together, but I am so comfortable!
