Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! E & I flying out to Chicago this afternoon to spend the holiday with my side of the family. We’ll be with his over Christmas.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, ever. It’s purely a joyous holiday spent reflecting on one’s blessings. No gifts. No angst. No worries. Just pure gratitude. Now that’s bliss.
My mom is one of six and my dad is one of five. And naturally everyone happened to have many kids. I’ve got quite a ton of cousins and what’s even more amazing is that each and every one is so cool and unique. Get this- we actually like spending time together! So instead of dreading a family with that odd relative, I count down the minutes and seconds until I get to see everyone. It is an Absolute. Blast.
We’ll be up in the suburbs at my Uncle Tor and Aunt Jen’s house and there will be much merriment. I love family traditions!
You know me & my lists….We’ll add a ‘Thankful’ one to the mix. Without further adieu, here are some things that I am very thankful for :)
Turkey with Cranberry & Pecan Pie. Dance parties with my sisters. Drinking Wine by the Fire. Family chats. Crisp cool mornings. The sound of birds chirping bright and early. George Winston & Vince Guaraldi. That first sip of coffee. Putting up a Christmas tree. Strolling State Street, that great street. Fresh lipgloss. Faux leather pants. Solberg House Parties. Catching up with old friends. Frango Mints. Anthropologie Mugs. The festive decor all over Chicago. Piano Man. Cute pajama pants and large sweatshirts. Dad sticking his tongue out whenever he is overly excited and happy. Gal Pal Sal’s light up glasses. The smell of mashed potatoes and turkey. Merriment. Wool. Taking a stroll over to Montrose Beach. The ‘Bob’. Flannel sheets. Potato Pancakes & Ornaments at the Christkindlmarket. Strolling by the Art Institute. Curling up in a big scarf. Cheese & Crackers. Waking up to texts from best friends. My wonderful Family. Palmer & Bowie. My other Half & Best Friend, Eric. Good Health & Good Life.
The list could continue for a few days, but would you still be reading?
Okay me either…
Here are a few snaps of some people that I’m very very grateful for.
