One of these days I’m going to write a detailed guide to Austin. In the year that we’ve been here, we have seen and done quite a lot of things. I absolutely love this city and all that it has to offer. Great food, beautiful weather, wineries, fabulous music, & tons of outdoor activities- there is a place for any kind of person here. And it’s awesome.
Eric and I move in just two weeks and I know one thing I’ll miss about this place is being a short walk from Blue Dahlia Bistro. It’s located on East 11th and there is another location in Westlake. It’s my favorite date place in town and I absolutely adore their little restaurant.
They are very reasonably priced and offer a selection of tartines, salads, breakfast meals, and have a great wine selection. It’s a European style restaurant and with their enclosed patio out back decorated in piazza lights, you feel as though you’ve traveled somewhere else for the night.
Eric and I have had many date nights at Blue Dahlia. I’ve also brought all my out of town guests there for a meal. Including a bachelorette party! Everyone left raving about it.
I highly recommend the cheeseboards, ahi tuna seared steak, and mussels dijon. Their portions are large, so if you order a salad, you may have some to take home. My favorite tartines on the menu are the smoked salmon with herbed cream cheese and fresh dill and the prosciutto with mozzarella, pesto, and sundried tomatoes. Delicious! Also, they have gluten free bread that’s out of this world! I’ll order if even though I have no allergy.
^^Date night with E. We love our cheese & wine! ^^
^^ The Seared Ahi Tuna on a bede of greens is outstanding ^^
^^ Me & My Two Beautiful Bachelorette Friends Liz & Diane! ^^
I do hope if you’re in Austin, you stop into Blue Dahlia Bistro. I promise you won’t be disappointed ;)
