I am fresh off a winter weekend getaway to Winter Park and feeling totally rejuvenated from the snow fall and mountain air. Yep, nature is so good for the soul. Eric had to work in Chicago last week and I was excited to join him and spend my birthday with my family and then fly out to Colorado for a ski weekend. I had wanted to ski for my 30th but didn’t think it would be possible with a 4 month old. But we made it work and I’m so glad we did! I grew up skiing and love the sport, but it has become quite expensive and a luxury to do, so once every few years when we can do it, I feel so lucky! And I could talk about the cozy mornings sipping coffee watching the snow fall and listening to it crunch under my feet, but you know me, I could talk about weather and the way it makes me feel forever. So I’ll just leave it at that ;)
One of my goals for 2018 was to find balance in my life again. And I feel like I’ve been doing a great job of achieving that! I know part of it is due to Charlie being a little older and therefore, a bit more independent. We’ve moved into a nap schedule which has been helping with time management and sleep! But part of our balance has been the effort we have put into getting out. I was anxious about getting a sitter one night every weekend but Eric pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and I’m so happy he did. We have regular date nights also take turns letting each other get out and it makes for two happy parents! READ THE POST
Did you guys catch my Instastories over the weekend? My best friend flew in from Baltimore with her 9 month old and we had the best weekend with our baby boys. It was an early birthday celebration for me. I can’t believe I’m turning THIRTY next week! We spent the majority of our time at the house since we’re on different nap schedules and it was nice to cook in, drink wine, and catch up on life. I love that we’re in this motherhood season of life together.
I finally feel like I’m getting motivated to take on 2018. I have lots of ideas for my blog. I just need to carve out time to execute them! I’ll be sharing a post soon with what I anticipate for this year and some of my goals, so stay tuned!READ THE POST
One of my favorite daily activities is getting out on a walk with Charlie and the dogs. It relieves all of us of our cabin fever and gives us a chance for fresh air. Leisurely walking gives me time to recharge and refresh. And I do most of my thinking while exercising. I knew having a baby would change my life, but I didn’t want it to stop me from being me and doing things I love. So I’ve started including Charlie in my activities and it’s made me a happier person.READ THE POST
