WINTER IS COMING.
Just kidding. It feels like winter is never coming. It’s December and its going to be 80 degrees today. While I don’t mind a mild winter come January (one of the perks of living in Texas), I need a little chill to get in the holiday spirit. Austin hasn’t given us our cool weather, but it sure has some of the prettiest fall color right now and I’m feeling very thankful for that. I’m that crazy lady you’ve seen out and about with two dogs and a stroller stopped on a street corner taking pictures of the leaves. Yup, #owningit. I am The Autumn Girl.
Since it feels like fall, it’s only appropriate I wear an olive trench, one of my favorite colors for this season. What I love about a trench coat is how effortlessly it elevates a look. It’s sophisticated and elegant and always makes me feel put together. Wear it with burgundy or muted colors for fall and mix it with blacks and whites for winter. Changing up the accessories makes it more versatile.
When it comes to fall and winter clothing, I believe basic is best. I scooped up this striped turtleneck from Madewell and love that it’s not tight around my neck or itchy whatsoever. Cotton for the win! It comes in several color options too and is so easy to mix with faux fur vests, cozy scarves, and under tunic dresses. It’s also not a difficult top for me to pull up to nurse. These days, trying to find cute & comfortable clothing that is both nursing friendly and can handle a little spit up is gold.
I recently found the perfect red lipstain for the Holidays and decided to dress up this simple outfit with it. It looks a bit brighter and warmer in these photos, but it’s actually a deep dark red that I absolutely love. Not kissing baby friendly though, I will warn you ;)
Well enjoy your Monday! I’m feeling sleep deprived after a failed attempt at changing what C sleeps in at night. I’m worried about him rolling over soon and so I’m trying to get him trained to sleep without a swaddle before he turns 3 months on our trip to Chicago. Going to have to try a different method tonight… #sleepsackfail… wish me luck!
