Goodness, me. Is it really May 23rd? Is this really the last week of school? I’m in a state of shock with how quickly this year has gone by. My sisters are coming to town (Brit on Wednesday, Lo on Friday) and I can barely contain my excitement. I have SO MANY FUN THINGS PLANNED! I can’t wait to share them with you… Adventuring with my sisters is one of my favorite things in the entire universe to do.
Eric and I had a really quick round trip weekend to Columbus Ohio for his cousin’s wedding. I started reading The Nightingale and I cannot put it down! Looks like my summer goal of reading 10 books is off to a good start! But seriously guys, this is a highly rated WWII flick and through two sisters, it paints the picture of the women’s war. I’m so eager to get all my errands and chores done today so I can sit down and get into it again.
Anyway, I was totally entranced with book yesterday when we landed in Austin. We got off the plane and BAM, did we feel that humidity. Austin, it’s too soon! Too soon!
When it’s not overly hot, one of the best ways to dress up a simple casual outfit is with a cute hat & booties. There are a few items in your closet that I find worth your investment. Along with a nice pair of pants, a few great dresses, and a bag you love, I think a few good pairs of shoes are worth your money. You’ve seen these booties below a few times and that’s because I keep wearing them. I bought them for my engagement pictures several years ago and people still ask me where they are from. I wish they were still in stock! Having a good pair of booties is a great accessory to your closet.
I also love a good fedora. I now have 5 in my collection and love rotating them with my different outfits. This blue ribbon fedora is from Anthropologie, but I’ve also found great ones at Nordstrom B.P, Forever 21, and other boutiques. There are a zillion places to buy a hat and I think they add a little sophistication to your ensemble. I love wearing a fedora out to the wineries, to brunch, and out for an afternoon of exploration. They’re so fun!
I’ve linked some cute booties & hats below for you. That Vince Camuto pair are amazing! I love that cognac color. What’s your favorite pair?
Have a great Monday friends!
